In the Maine North Woods --- Better than "Trout Fishing in America" by Richard Brautigan
Dear humble,
Nearly all of my trout fishing is brooks, streams or the occasional beaver pond. Lake fishing (even if I'm getting a few) leaves me cold. Monday I was casting across my favorite pool when I heard splashing. At the head of the pool was a cow moose. We considered each other for a moment. Then, I had a fish on and her calf trotted into view. I had to side-step into the shallows to show non-aggression whilst controlling the fish. She & calf went across the stream. Released the trout; it wasn't as large as the one I already was saving for the next day's breakfast.
Last year (further along in the season) in the very same spot I had a young bull still in velvet wade into the stream before seeing me. We considered each other and I continued fishing. He waded across and shortly a cow, almost certainly the mother, came from the same approach. Very likely the same cow as this year's. She, too, deemed me of little consequence or, possibly, of "natural" consequence. They meandered to the the far bank & browsed their way downstream.
Some few years ago, during Memorial week, I was fishing a smallish stream & a new bright-spot fawn walked right up to me.
You guessed it: all three times the camera was back in the vehicle.
But I'm very lucky all the same. Hope to be lucky this coming week with a party from below the Volvo line; they want to learn both fly fishing & river canoing in just 5 days.
I promise I will keep a moderate mien & straight face the whole time.
... in the north Maine woods,
Pete

For my http://startso11.info/www.cellmons.tenbib.html own part, I intend to believe nothing henceforward that has anything of the 'singular' about it.. Cattle? Why cattle? From other components of the same dream it is now possible to add http://startso11.info/przeloty.html that the lady had guessed the relationship between the English word box and the German Buechse , and had then been haunted by the memory that Buechse (as well as box) is used in vulgar speech to designate the female genital organ..
